Ryan has been active in sports and fitness since he was 8 and has continued his passion for sports and physical fitness throughout his adult life. After endless searches for something other than a typical gym to continue to challenge himself, and not being satisfied as a trainer at the “big box gyms”, Ryan opened his first Fitness and Training Center in the spring of 2015. He sold that gym in the summer of 2017 to found True Champion Training.
As a Personal Trainer, Ryan has trained multiple high school and college athletes, including Division I and Ivy League athletes who now compete at the University of Notre Dame, University of Washington, the Army Academy, Cornell University, University of Pittsburgh, and several other local and national colleges.
Ryan has taught physical education to grades K-8 and coached multiple youth sports and also spent 2 years coaching and serving as a strength and conditioning coach for a collegiate Rugby team
In his off time, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, coaching youth sports, watching his boys on the football field and wrestling (winning multiple state and national titles), working with Jr and Sr High teens at his Church, and watching the Vikings and Gophers!
One of Ryan’s main goals when coaching people is to help them see the “big picture” when it comes to their health and fitness goals.
“Rarely does great success come right away – but when people stay motivated and persevere through the ups and downs, that is when great things happen. As a coach, I love to coach people to believe that they can accomplish their fitness dreams, and then travel that journey with them.”
